Wine Information

30 hectares of vineyards, spread across 17 plots near Jouques, located approximately 30 kilometers north of Aix-en-Provence under the protection of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, belong to Château Revelette. The 2020 Rouge is produced there. It is a blend of approximately 50% Syrah and 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cinsault, Counoise, and Carignan. The grape varieties were harvested separately and fermented for approximately 25 days at 25 to 27°C.

Nose

The 2020 Chateau Revelette Rouge is a herbal and berry-flavoured wine reminiscent of blackberries, blueberries, plums, and sloes, as well as juniper, herbs de Provence, and a hint of olive tapenade. With aeration, notes of spicy tobacco, leather, and some rock, as well as a touch of smoke, emerge.

Palate

On the palate, the wine appears juicy, and the Cabernet Sauvignon, with its notes of cassis and a light paprika, is much more evident than on the nose. Added to this are the fruit and spicy notes already so present on the nose, which are permeated by a lively acidity. The tannin is firm but ripe and offers a certain smoothness.
