Description
“We want nothing more and nothing less than to produce wines that consist only of earth, sun, air and water” is the motto of Anita and Hans Nittnaus. The amiable winemaking couple from Gols on Lake Neusiedl is one of the co-founders of the biodynamic winemakers’ association RESPEKT. Nature determines the character of their wines; the focus is on origin and site characteristics. The 42 ha of vineyards are 90% planted with red wine vines and the rest with white wine vines. The family cultivates vineyards not only around Gols, but also on the other side of Lake Neusiedl, in the Leithagebirge. Very terroir-related, mineral wines ripen here on shell limestone, mica slate, and quartzite.
