Description
Jaume Mesquida Mora was one of the visionaries of Mallorcan viticulture in the 1970s and 1980s. He was the first to plant Bordelais grape varieties. And these still form the basis for the success of the island’s viticulture today. When he fell ill, Barbara, who had studied philology and actually wanted to start a career on the mainland, came back. But the collaboration with her father did not succeed. She had completely different ideas about the viticulture of the future. It should be sustainable and ecological. With the help of her mother and uncle, she founded her own winery with a few plots in 2012 and focused on the local varieties Callet, Manto Negro, and Prensal. After the death of her father, old vineyards were added. Today, the estate is farmed biodynamically and the wines are among the most progressive and independent on the island.
