Wine Information

A blend of Grenache and Carignan, not Grenache rouge, but primarily the Grenache variant Lledoner Pelut. The grapes come from old vines on slate soils around Calce in Roussillon. Whole-bunch fermentation took place, and the wine was aged in cement, neutral wood, and clay. No additives were added.

Muted purple.

Nose

The 2021 Cuvée Romanissa from Domaine Matassa radiates such freshness: juicy blackberry, sloe, and wild raspberry pair with undergrowth, rosemary, thyme, fruit tea, and a hint of wood smoke and licorice.

Palate

Invigorating and lively at just 11.5% ABV, this fine red refreshes the tongue with stimulating acidity and velvety tannins. Each sip entices you to try another; a truly fine food accompaniment that complements but never dominates. Here’s to another sip, Tom Lubbe! Best enjoyed chilled from large glasses.
