About the wine

The Marsala Vergine is not topped up with warmed and caramelized Mistella must, as is usual, but exclusively with the finest Acquavite. It was aged for 27 years in oak and walnut barrels of various sizes.

The nose is almost ethereally fragrant, dry, and characterized by the connection between old Marsala and the sea. Notes of dried figs, dates, oranges, and orange peel combine with green walnuts and a hint of salt, seaweed, and anchovies. If you close your eyes, you have the impression of holding the essence of Sicily in your glass.

Palate

The Vergine from 1988 is extremely delicate and fine. It initially surprises with its dryness, which one is not used to from a Marsala.
