Description
Product description for Manincor Moscato Giallo DOC 2023 (bio)
The 2023 Moscato Giallo comes from the Mareit (Leiten) vineyard at 350 m above sea level, a very steep, south-facing site with warm gravel soils and moraine deposits. Additional plots from the Vogelleiten and Panholz vineyards, with their loamy, limestone gravel soils, outline the 2023 vintage. The grapes were selectively harvested by hand at the end of September. The yield per hectare was only 55 hl. The grapes were then destemmed and macerated for twelve hours in the press to extract aroma and structure from the skins. Fermented largely spontaneously in wooden barrels and steel tanks with the grapes’ own yeasts, it was then aged on the fine lees for five months.
Colour
Pale yellow with a silvery rim.
Nose
The nose of the 2023 Moscato Giallo from Manincor is ultra-restrained, almost shy. Influenced by the aging on the fine lees, the typical aromas of Yellow Muscat appear only tentatively at first. Then come the typical muscat notes, reminiscent of mace and nutshells. Aromas of grapes and green cider pears mingle with floral overtones of white blossoms in the top note.
Palate
As clear as a bell, like glacial ice, the Moscato Giallo rushes across the palate and knows nothing but how to refresh mercilessly. Floral and fragrant, its disciplined aromas have just the right kink, without drifting into grandma’s dried flower bouquets. Crystal-clear structure with precise aromatics and all the right attributes in the right place. The fine acidity accelerates it into a fruity and fragrant finish. Drink it up!
