The grapes for the Eichhorn come from the Terlaner Lieben Aich vineyard and the Eichhorn vineyard, a southwest-facing slope at 300m above sea level with soils of sandy loam on weathered porphyry. Thanks to the warm spring and balanced summer, the 2020 Eichhorn was harvested as early as August 25th. The destemmed grapes underwent an eight-hour maceration period before pressing. The must fermented spontaneously in wood and aged on the fine lees for nine months.

Medium straw yellow with brilliant reflections.

Nose

Fragrant floral aromas transport Manincor’s 2022 Eichhorn Weißburgunder directly to a South Tyrolean orchard with a view over the valley floor. Green and yellow stone fruits like apples and small, plump pears, as well as ripe melons, fill his fruit basket; a hint of linden blossom hangs in the air, and lemon balm lines the path. Lemon blossoms and culinary herbs like chervil and borage infuse it with fine herbal spice and floral notes.

Palate

Crystal-clear on the palate, this Pinot Blanc forgoes any fruity cascades, instead presenting a polished clarity with focused fruit in the extract and a dry appearance on the palate. Clearly contoured by delicate tannins and carried by a ripe, cleanly crafted acidity, it flows into a fruity, cool finish.
