Description
Product description for Luneau-Papin Pueri Solis VdF 2023 (bio)
The 2023 Pueri Solis no longer comes from the vineyard planted in 1974 in Le Loroux-Botterau, but from melon vines planted in 1936 in the single vineyard La Plécisière – Clos des Noëlles in La Chapelle-Heulin. The bedrock consists of mica schist and slate. The grapes are carefully sorted by harvesters in the vineyard, then pressed in a pneumatic press and fermented spontaneously in underground, glass-lined concrete vats. They are aged for 32 months.
Colour
Intense straw yellow
Nose
The Pueri Solis comes from a warm site and accordingly offers a wonderful abundance of fruit with ripe quinces, pears and apples, melons, cape gooseberries and yellow plums combined with hints of ginger, salted lemon and rock.
Palate
On the palate, the Muscadet is juicy and sensual, with a rich, enveloping texture and a fine acidity that winds its way through the creamy white and yellow-fleshed fruit. Here, too, there’s a slight ginger pungency within the comforting warmth of the fruit. The slate provides a light mineral tension in this round, feel-good Muscadet.
