Wine Information

Single-varietal Syrahwith an average age of 30 to 40 years from clayey limestone terraces in Beaumont-Monteux. After destemming and maceration, spontaneous fermentation took place with pigeage for around a month. The wine was then pressed very slowly using a vertical press. Aging took place for 12 months, one quarter each in amphora, ovoid, barrique, and foudre.

Nose

This is a Crozes-Hermitage that captures all the aromas for which Syrah in the Northern Rhône is known. These include elderberry, blackberries, and plums, black olive tapenade, bresaola, some aged game, as well as pepper, mocha, garrigue, cloves, violets, and roses.

Palate

On the palate, the Syrah possesses substance, freshness, depth, and charm. Above all, however, the balance is just right, thanks to the clear acidity structure and lively minerality, the elegant tannins, and the earthy and wild components within the dark, red, fleshy, and juicy fruit. This is true Northern Rhône Syrah with warmth and coolness, fleshiness and stoniness, pepper and florality.
