Description
Product description for Larmandier-Bernier Longitude, Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut NV (bio)
Christoph Raffelt: On the palate, Larmandier’s Blanc de Blancs is rich and opulent. It’s hard to believe the dosage is a mere four grams. And yet, despite all its successful maturity, the wine is dry, powerful, clear and fresh, precise and elegant. The yellow citrus fruit stands out slightly and joins the herbal spice. The acidity balances the opulence of the reserve wines and creates precisely the tension between the ripe, deep, expansive and the young, precise and focused, austere Chardonnay of the Côte des Blancs. The Longitude deserves its name above all in its long, deep, harmonious and very successful finish.
Wine
Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Longitude Premier Cru Extra-Brut
Wine
The Chardonnay vines of the Longitude (formerly simply Blanc de Blancs) come from Premier Cru vineyards in Vertus, Oger, Avize, and Cramant. The Longitude is a cuvée of wines from up to nine vintages with a 40% reserve content. It is aged sur lattes for more than 24 months, disgorged, and receives four grams of dosage.
Colour
Light golden yellow, lively mousse
Nose
The Blanc de Blancs is complex, elegant, and extremely balanced on the nose. A fine herbal spice is accompanied by brioche, white flowers, stone fruit, pome fruit, lemons, and chalk. Everything meshes together to form a harmonious and stimulating whole.
Palate
On the palate, Larmandier’s Blanc de Blancs presents itself rich and opulent. It’s hard to believe that the dosage here is only four grams.
