Description
Királyudvar can be described as the Hungarian counterpart to Domaine Huet on the Loire. Not only do both belong to the same family, but they are also aristocratic figureheads of their region. As on the Loire, both sweet and dry white wines are produced here in the heart of Tokaj. The range extends from 5g to well over 400g of residual sugar. Királyudvar has nothing to fear in terms of drinking pleasure and quality! The roots of the winery go back to the 11th century. As the name Királyudvar reveals, which means ‘royal court’, the winery was a royal Hungarian court supplier for many centuries. In 1997, Anthony Hwang took over the winery to restore it to its former grandeur. In keeping with his personal wine philosophy, the wines focus on precision and balance as well as terroir expression.
