Wine Information

The Éclats Rosé is a Champagne from the Les Coteaux du Petit Morin terroir, with its calcareous and clayey soils of the Côte de Sézanne, featuring flint, white marl, and millstone (Éclats de Meulière) soils. The vines are approximately 45 years old. The grapes were Meunier (60%), Pinot Noir (30%), and Chardonnay. The spontaneously fermented juices were aged in foudres (15%) and stainless steel vats (75%). 15% of the Meunier was added as red wine. The vintages are 2020 and 2021. The dosage is 4.5 g/L. Disgorged in October 2024.

Color

Intense strawberry rosé with lively perlage.

Nose

The Éclats Rosé is a lively champagne, and thanks to the high Meunier content, also fruity, yet offers a clear, stony and herbal counterbalance. It is reminiscent of red currants, pomegranate juice, and wild strawberries, crushed lime, as well as notes of apple and a hint of red Ahoi effervescence.

Palate

On the palate, the champagne presents itself skillfully balanced between juicy and tart notes, rock and herbal spice, piquant acidity, and minerality. The perlage is lively, the Éclats incredibly fresh and invigorating. Although it has a slightly higher dosage than its white companion with 4.5 grams, it appears very dry and only in the finish does one find a fine sweetness combined with ripe berry notes.
