Description
The Huré Frères estate dates back to Georges Huré, born in 1911, who passed the estate on to his sons Raoul, Marc, and Jean Marie. Today, Raoul’s sons François and Pierre cultivate the 10 hectares, which are mainly found in the 1er Cru communes of Ludes and Ville-Dommange in the Montagne de Reims. 8 hectares are planted with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier (50% each), 2 hectares with Chardonnay. Huré’s base wines do not undergo malolactic fermentation. They have a sharp fruitiness, yet are lean and precise with plenty of tension between a pleasant austerity and generosity. In addition to the classic Brut Invitation, the brothers produce a Blanc de Blancs, a Rosé, vintage champagnes and, with Mémoire, an extra brut from a solera started in 1982. In the 4 Éléments series, three single-varietal vintage parcel wines are currently being produced, the base wine of each of which is vinified in tonneau.
