Wine Information

This wine comes from various vineyards in Cumières, where pure chalky limestone lies beneath a thin layer of clay and silt. Pinot Noir (30%), Pinot Meunier (20%), and Chardonnay (59%) were aged in used barrels and aged sur lattes for one and a half years until the champagne was disgorged on August 30, 2024, without dosage.

Colour

Intense straw yellow to golden yellow, fine mousse.

Nose

The 2022 vintage of Vincent Laval’s Cumières Brut Nature is delicately fruity and spicy. The nose reveals a blend of Amalfi lemon, lemon curd, dried peach, and tonic water with a herbal-spicy component and a hint of moist stone. With air and warmth, red berries become more pronounced.

Palate

On the palate, the champagne is powerful, creamy, deep, and generous. At first, the Chardonnay seems to dominate, then the Pinot Noir and Meunier become increasingly evident, with fine red fruit and a fleshy, juicy component combined with salted lemon and a hint of blood orange. The champagne possesses a haunting tension, elegance, and power in balanced interplay.
