Colour

Rich golden yellow with light reflections

Nose

For a Pinot Blanc, this initially appears enormously warm and ripe. The fruit is open-hearted and generously portioned. The yellow fruit reminds me of mirabelle plums, khaki, and a hint of mango. Fully ripe peaches and pears, as well as caramelized quince, round out the fruit comprehensively. Heated fennel seeds and star anise build up behind the wall of fruit. Juniper and white pepper add spicy accents. A bready component brings depth into play. This is evident in the crust of brown bread. I can faintly detect dried fruit in the background.

Palate

In contrast to the nose, it develops slenderly on the palate. In terms of colour, I would describe it as green rather than yellow. Juicy, robust, and crisp would be the key words. Aromatically, it defines this with lime, unripe mango, and yellow apples. Herbal nuances are omnipresent on the palate, with lemon balm, thyme, and chervil standing out. Tactilely, it thrives on its phenolic structure, which creates tension. Overall, it is rather restrained and refined. An invigorating and pleasant wine that thrives on contrasts. Nose and palate are in absolute discord.
