Description
Because Juan Carlos Lopez de Lacaille, the visionary head of the Artadi winery, is a real grape variety junkie and has continued to increase his knowledge, Artadi has expanded over time. Since 1996, Artadi has been present in neighbouring Navarre, where it has been working intensively with Garnacha at the Artazu winery. Since 2015, Artadi has been involved in the heart of the Basque Txakoli region to vinify a sparkling wine from the local Hondaribbi grape variety. As early as 1999, El Sequé in Valencia was added, and with it Monastrell. Alicante is an historically important wine-growing region in the Spanish Levant. Artadi has 40 hectares of vineyards on sandy and calcareous soils. The vineyards are cultivated organically and biodynamically. The Vin de Garde is made from 100 % Monastrell, i.e. Mourvèdre, and is a traditional sweet wine reminiscent of Port.
