About the wine

100% Chenin Blanc with a yield of 40 hl/ha from the clay-limestone soils of Quercy. After hand-picking, the whole grapes were directly pressed, and fermentation and maceration began spontaneously. Aging took place in used oak and clay amphorae. No finening or filtering was performed. The total sulfur content is 21 mg/l.

Color

Light golden yellow with light green reflections.

Nose

Chenin Blanc from Cahors with 11.2% vol.! And the nose certainly has a lot to do with the grape variety. It’s reminiscent of pears and quinces, but in a very fresh way, even though the fruit appears ripe and juicy. Added to this are hints of grapefruit and salted lemons, herbs, a touch of sourdough, and smoke.

Palate

On the palate, the K-libre is juicy and downright drinkable, with a ripe, round acidity that becomes increasingly punchy and sharper towards the finish – typical Chenin! The wine has impressive power and body for its low alcohol content, yet somehow remains lean and sleek, with a zesty, zesty flavor that encourages drinking. If that isn’t exciting, then that’s it.
