Description
The Domaine Clau de Nell is without doubt one of the cult wineries in Anjou on the Loire. This is not due to its long history, but to the fact that its founders produced excellent wines from the beginning between 2002 and 2008, but unfortunately had little luck in economic terms. Their wines attracted the attention of the great Burgundian winemaker Anne-Claude Leflaive, who first helped the winemakers and later took over the Domaine Clau de Nell with her husband and their friend Mr. and Mrs. Bourguignon, two soil scientists. Today Clau de Nell produces some of the most Burgundian wines of Anjou, characterised by a fantastic balance of elegance and down-to-earthness. An absolutely unique terroir and vines up to 100 years old provide Grolleau, Cabernet Franc, Chenin blanc, and the Cabernet Cuvée Violette.
