Product description for Cirelli Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC 2022 (bio)The wines from Francesco Cirelli’s La Collina series come from contract organic cultivation on surrounding farms. For this Cerasuolo, the grapes are destemmed, followed by a 24-hour maceration in tanks. The must is then gently pressed and spontaneously fermented in stainless steel. After four months on the lees, the wine is bottled after a small amount of sulphur has been added.

Colour

Light cherry red, transparent and clear.

Nose

Confident, full of life, and crystal-clear, the 2022 Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo from Francesco Cirelli smells like an entire grove of crisp, fresh cherries. With its full fruitiness, it fulfills every expectation one might have of a top Cerasuolo without drifting into the category of a seasonal item. A year-round source of pleasure, it combines its high-performance fruit with delicately tart notes of kitchen herbs and mild spices, which the cherry doesn’t mind at all.

Palate

It flows down the throat with an almost unashamed cherry flavour until the delicately tart tannins emerge and contour it on the palate. Their texture is almost dusty, enclosing the sparkling fruit like jewelry. Bone dry with well-integrated acidity, the yeast storage is also tactile on the palate. A top all-rounder for anything you can eat out of your hand.
