Description
Product description for Chêne Bleu Aliot AOP 2021 (bio)
Wine Information
The winery’s flagship white, named after Aliot de Montvin, a nobleman who established a glassblowing workshop on the property in 1427. A blend of approximately 2/3 Roussanne with Grenache Blanc and Marsanne, planted at 550 meters in a north-facing position and approximately 20 years old. Fermented spontaneously and aged for eight months in demi-muids.
Color
Deep golden yellow
Nose
The Aliot is an elegant wine from the outset, revealing little of its potential on the nose. It is reminiscent of khaki, pear, acacia honey, and brioche, combined with notes of cardamom, almonds, and vanilla. A candied lemon appears in the background.
Palate
On the palate, the Aliot is impressively balanced, deep, round, and delicate. It possesses an oily concentration yet a remarkable freshness. It balances the yellow fruit with the fragrance of flowers, with Mediterranean herbal and oriental spicy notes. It combines the sunny aspects of the south with a fine minerality to create a successful intensity and vibrancy.
