Info

The grapes for this cuvée come from the domaine’s young vineyards and from partner companies in the region. The vines are planted on limestone, gravel, and clay soils on slopes. The exposure varies from east to southwest. After manual harvesting, the grapes are completely destemmed and fermented in open vats. Pigeage and remontage are used continuously. The wine then ages in larger oak barrels for ten to twelve months. It is bottled unfiltered.

Colour

Bright cherry red with dark to violet highlights and a light rim.

Nose

The 2022 Petite Aigle Bourgogne Pinot Nor fluctuates between light and dark aromas. Sweet and sour cherries act in unison, while raspberry, a touch of plum, and wild strawberry create a diverse fruit landscape. Rosehip and red fruit tea support this with depth. A note of red apple provides both fruit and freshness. Its bright aromas are revealed through dry, light earth, white pepper, and wet chalk. Pepper, juniper, marjoram, and savory add spice.

Palate

On the palate, it is noticeably softer and more subdued. Its fruit is in complete harmony here. The Pinot Noir appears clear and pure, but completely unexciting. A fine acid structure underpins it. In the mouth, the lighter fruits, but also in the form of a tea of rosehip and red fruits, are much more evident. It is consistently stimulating and invigorating. Its earthy side is perfectly measured here. Herbs and spices are now much more restrained, but still peak out from time to time.
