Score: (92-94)
The 2022 Beaune Aux Coucherias 1er Cru was picked just before the September heat waves and made with 65% whole bunches. It certainly has some of the most flattering aromatics amongst Champy’s 2022, with upfront, vivacious Morello cherries, wild strawberry, bergamot and sous-bois scents soaring from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, quite citric in style, with touches of marmalade and tangerine infusing the red fruit on the finish. This represents a worthy follow-up to the previous vintage.
