Nose

The aroma of the 2022 Bakkanali Rosso reveals its originality with a pronounced and beguiling freshness. Aromas of cranberries pair with wild raspberries, wild blueberries, and distinct floral notes of wild roses, violets, and ivy. The whole is perfectly underscored by rosemary, thyme, and wonderful impressions of tobacco and leather.

Palate

On the tongue, its minerality and freshness are once again beautifully present; acidity and tannins are very polished and perfectly embedded in the red and blue fruit. A wine with depth and finesse that ages well and harmonizes wonderfully with cuisine characterized by the same authenticity as the wine itself.

The 2022 Toscana Rosso Fiorenzo tempts the imagination: a bouquet of dried roses and violets inflected with stone dust and spice gives way to freshly picked strawberries. Medium-bodied yet graceful and silky in feel, the 2022 offers a stunning core of ripe cherry-berry fruits and crunchy mineral tones. It leaves a framework of sweet tannins, tapering off structured and long as resonances of tart wild berry and licorice fade slowly. The Fiorenzo hails from 18-year-old Sangiovese vines planted above 600 meters on Mount Amiata. It undergoes whole-bunch carbonic fermentation. Tasting this gets me very excited about the potential of this location. Nicely done.
