Wine Information

The Xion is the current entry-level Albariño from younger vineyards, which were nevertheless arranged as a pergola. The soil is characterized by granite with overlying sand and clay. After being hand-picked, the grapes undergo a cool pre-fermentation. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine is aged on the fine lees.

Nose

The 2023 Xión opens with floral and herbal scents such as lemon balm and fennel green. Added to this are lemon peel, notes of green apples, green almonds, a slightly salty sea spray as if from the nearby sea, herbs, and a hint of yeast.

Palate

On the palate, the Xión displays a fresh and slightly sweet juiciness. The wine has substance, yet appears pleasantly uncomplicated, with taut acidity and good character, further enhanced by the salty note that quickly emerges. The fruit appears more greenish than yellow, with citrus, slightly bitter and piquant notes. Added to this is a delicate creaminess from the aging on the lees. This is a handcrafted entry-level Albariño at its finest.
