Colour

A bright straw yellow with golden reflections, the wine shines clear and brilliantly from the glass.

Nose

Montsant is always good for surprises. Its golden appearance already betrays the density and intensity of this Garnatxa Blanca. Saleres contains a very old, barren vineyard called “El Masroig.” In some years, the Tros Blanc consists of this vineyard and “Notaria,” which has somewhat heavier soils. The aroma of this wine combines the delicate exotic notes of honeydew melon, papaya, and pomelo with the nutty aromas of roasted grain, malted barley, and cornflakes. Rising steam from boiling basmati rice combines with notes of bay leaf, white pepper, and turmeric.

Palate

The palate is literally capsized by Alfredo Arribas’ 2015 Tros Blanc Saleres, but also accepts it with devotion and gratitude. It rolls in broadly with a creamy texture, marking its territory. Its yellow-fleshed fruit, timidly hiding behind a pile of stones in the wine’s aroma, now gains in ripeness and fullness. However, in the aftermath of this sparse documentation, it does a U-turn on its heels and embarks on a constantly resounding, mouth-watering, and even salty echo in praise of great craftsmanship and wine culture.
