Description

Champagne Alexis is the property of Alexis Leconte, who works full time on his parents’ estate. His own business barely covers one hectare. The champagnes are correspondingly rare. His vineyards are located in Troissy and Vandières in the Vallée de la Marne, as well as in Aÿ in the Grande Vallée. He cultivates the partly very old Meunier and Pinot Noir vineyards organically with many biodynamic aspects and follows the lunar cycles in the vineyard. The basic wines are mostly vinified in 400 tonneaux and in small parts also in cellar amphorae. The fermentation is spontaneous. He does not use malolactic fermentation. His champagnes show a sense of depth, complexity, balance and above all precision and a perfect acidity.
