Description
The Albert Mann wine estate is an amalgamation of the Barthelmé and Mann families, both of whom have been growing grapes around Wettolsheim since the 17th century, i.e. for around 350 years. Today, the brothers Maurice and Jacky Barthelmé, together with their wives Marie-Claire and Marie-Thérèse, run the family estate that was created from the two estates. Their estate is located in the heart of Alsace, a few kilometres south of Colmar. The family has 25 hectares with seven Grand Cru sites, with the two famous sites Altenbourg and Rosenberg, which do not have Grand Cru status, and with the monopole site Clos de la Faille. The winery has been certified biodynamic since 1997 and belongs to Biodyvin. Of course, Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewürztraminer are very popular here. In recent years, however, Pinot Noir in particular has become increasingly important.
