Product description for Peter Jakob Kühn Riesling Lenchen Auslese VDP Grosse Lage 2021 (bio)
The “Le(h)ne” of the Pfingstbach stream gives this site its name; its vineyards gently slope southwestward into the stream valley. Fertile clay loess is interspersed with iron-rich red quartzite veins. “Eiserberg” was therefore an old name for the Lenchen area, referring to this geological feature. The early morning mists of the Pfingstbach stream favor the spread of Botrytis cinerea – ideal conditions for the creation of noble sweet wines.
Spontaneously fermented, aged in stainless steel tanks, bottled in spring 2022.
Light, sparkling golden yellow with delicate green reflections.
The 2021 Riesling Lenchen Auslese seduces with mango, vineyard peach, ripe apple, and candied lemon. The aromas blend beautifully, radiating brilliant freshness and animating sweetness, supported by a distinct and intense mineral note that will intensify with further maturation.
On the tongue, this Auslese captivates with expansive fruit, a creamy, sweet structure, and invigorating acidity. The finesse and fantastic interplay of sweetness and acidity, as well as the extremely moderate alcohol content of just 7.5% vol, encourage you to have another glass or two. Fantastic with dessert, exotic appetizers, and cheese.
