Product description for Moric Jagini Zagersdorf 2011

Info

A joint project by Roland Velich and Hannes Schuster in Zagersdorf, this Blaufränkisch from 60-year-old vines was spontaneously fermented and aged for four years in wooden barrels.

Colour

Garnet red with violet reflections, a very youthful appearance.

Nose

The aroma of the 2011 Jagini displays a beguiling freshness and density; blueberries, elderberry, licorice, peat, and a hint of coffee combine with plenty of salty minerality and cool depth. You’ll want to immerse yourself in this dense and fresh work of art.

Palate

What freshness and polished structure on the palate: the tannin is silky, the fruit is extremely juicy, and the aftertaste evokes pure drinking pleasure. A wine that dances with elegance and demonstrates great winemaking talent. I could enjoy it as a standalone wine or simply immerse myself in it, but at the same time, it perfectly accompanies aromatic and sophisticated cuisine.
