Dense purple-red with violet reflections, lightening towards the rim, black core.

Nose

The 2019 Morei offers juicy sour cherry pure, especially after two days of opening, where it still appears incredibly fresh and youthful. In addition to the distinct cherry fruit, it is the beguiling lilac and elderberry notes, as well as a hint of marzipan and wild Mediterranean herbs that captivate the senses. Despite the freshness and the current focus on fruit, it possesses a mineral depth and exciting structure.

Palate

This exciting structure is revealed with a mineral, almost cool texture and with refreshing fruit and acidity. Its tannins appear polished and fine-grained, and its acidity refreshingly youthful. The extremely moderate alcohol content of 12.5% vol. provides additional vitality. Currently still a rough diamond that will become even more harmonious with a few years of ageing. A few days of opening will allow it to develop. If you want to enjoy it now, be sure to decant it and serve it slightly chilled in a sufficiently large glass.

With roses and fresh strawberries complicated by wild herbs and cloves, the 2019 Teroldego Sgarzon Cilindrica is a veritable spice box on the nose. This flows across the palate with ease, silky yet energetic. An upfront tinge of minerality introduces its tart wild berry fruits. Fine tannins slowly saturate through it all, creating a structured yet surprisingly fresh finale as traces of licorice and red florals gradually fade.
