Colour

Dark purple, slightly cloudy, almost colour-tight right to the rim.

Nose

The 2019 Sgarzon presents itself wild and earthy; it needs plenty of air to unfold its charm. Its berry fruit appears masculine and delicately tart, reminiscent of sloe, rowanberry, and elderberry wood, accompanied by beetroot, ivy, and boxwood. Its aromatic spectrum appears interwoven, and it is a great pleasure to approach it sensorially.

Palate

On the palate, its youthful acidity and fine tannin structure make it even more challenging and youthful. Its dark berry fruit blends clearly with the earthy aromas of the nose, a fine mineral note, and delicate saltiness, which, combined with a sour cherry note that now emerges, stimulates the drinking flow. Similar to the Morei, this wine is a pleasure to savour over several days to follow its exciting development. At the moment, it’s a true diamond in the rough. If you want to enjoy it now, be sure to decant it and serve it slightly chilled in a sufficiently large glass.
