Wine Information

30 hectares of vineyards, spread across 17 plots near Jouques, located around 30 kilometers north of Aix-en-Provence under the protection of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, belong to Château Revelette. This is where the 2020 Rouge is produced. It is a blend of 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 10% Carignan, and 6% Pinot Noir. The grape varieties were fermented for around 30 days. The wine was aged for twelve months in 1- to 4-year-old barriques and 10% in foudres.

Colour

Intense purple to violet

Nose

The 2020 Chateau Revelette Le Grand Rouge appears fleshy and juicy with overtones of mint and violet blossoms. The blend of blackberries, blueberries, and cherries appears fleshy and juicy and is underscored by a hint of olive tapenade.

Palate

On the palate, the wine appears tart with its rocky and herbal aromas and firm tannins. This is a serious wine that still needs time, especially since the fruit also appears rather firm and tart, reminiscent of sloes and combined with olive tapenade. Only with the help of a decanter and air does the impending charm and a sweet fruit core reveal itself.
