South Tyrolean winemaker Caroline Pobitzer and her German husband, oenologist Jan Hendrik Erbach, have settled on this venerable terroir, located directly next to Biondi-Santi. The soils offer ideal conditions for Sangiovese, producing complex, sophisticated wines full of depth. The four distinct sites require highly individualized work in the vineyards and during vinification. With the precision of a Swiss watch, Jan conjures up the full diversity of the terroir from his 6 hectares of vineyards. The freshness of his wines delights time and time again. This new style has completely captivated us, as it demonstrates a completely new potential for Sangiovese grosso: juicy, full-bodied wines full of smoothness and delicate tannins.
