From Wachenheim’s basalt and Keuper marl soils in higher altitudes, the 2022 Odinstal Monopol Weissburgunder GG opens with a deep, pure and elegant, flinty-mineral and still yeasty bouquet of fully ripe and fleshy yellow and white fruits. Full-bodied, lush and elegant on the first palate, this is a substantial and complex, remarkably refined and persistently saline and nervy Pinot Blanc with fine tannins and a long, aromatic and structural, refreshing saline finish. This is an excellent but still very young Pinot Blanc with great potential. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in October 2024.
