Wine Information

The organically certified red wine “Maisulan 12” is a classic Crianza and also a classic Rioja blend made from 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano. The wine comes from vineyards located at an altitude of 470 to 570 meters in the Basque region of Rioja (Alavesa), with calcareous clay soils and bush vines that are on average 45 years old. The wine was aged for 12 months in barriques.

The nose of this red wine is pure and clear, with fresh red and dark fruit, a hint of violet, and delicately spicy and earthy notes.

Palate

This is a Crianza straight out of a picture book: It has a wonderful balance of fruit and wood notes, silky-smooth tannins, and is fresh and juicy. Unlike the Reserva and Gran Reserva categories, the focus of a Crianza is not on structure and complexity, but rather on drinkability and suitability as a versatile food accompaniment. The Maisulan 12 offers all of these qualities in magnificent style.
