Wine Information

The Orphée is a single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc from Guillaume Sorbe. The fruit comes from plots in Reuilly, more precisely in Chery, with fairly young vines on predominantly clayey-limestone soils, but also on soils with pebbles and red sand. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine was aged for three years, partly in tanks, but mostly in used 400- and 600-liter barrels. Since the 2018 vintage, the Reuilly has been declared a Vin de France (Christoph Raffelt).

Colour

Light golden yellow with silvery reflections.

Nose

What a mineral expression on the nose! Alongside yeasty notes and the scent of oyster shell, citrus fruits, apple, apple peel, white currants, and fennel emerge. In its youthful stage, it demands a decanter to unfold its elegant beauty.

Palate

On the palate, the 2019 Orphée is full-bodied, juicy, and powerful. A delicate fruit sweetness is noticeable on the palate, which is intertwined with fine acidity and an equally fine tannin. It skillfully combines its extract-rich density with its invigorating and precise structure. Enjoy decanted from large glasses; oxygen enhances it even further!
