Wine Information

The hand-picked grapes were spontaneously fermented in local oak barrels and then bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Colour

Muted, deep cherry red with violet reflections and ruby-red highlights towards the rim.

Nose

On the nose, the 2022 Ahrweiler Forstberg Spätburgunder displays great finesse and cool depth. Dark cherries pair with blackcurrants, currant jelly, and numerous herbs, spices, and blossoms. Peonies are just as present as juniper, cinnamon, and cocoa. Stony notes and the scent of wood smoke perfectly round out its overall appearance.

Palate

With plenty of juiciness and freshness, it hits the tongue, where it seduces with its fruity and elegant structure. Its low alcohol content contributes to a perfect drinking experience.
