Color

Dark, luminous purple with a dense core and violet reflections.

Nose

Its nose is absolutely alluring and mysterious. It currently shows hardly any fruit. Hints of plum and sweet cherry alongside cassis. Unusually, however, it displays pronounced barberry and rosehip. It appears earthy and alive with a breeze of cold smoke. Chalky, cool, and clear. The Finca de los Locos is based on Tempranillo, Graciano, and Viura. Juniper, black pepper, and long pepper convey a lot of spice. Marjoram, oregano, and lovage spread throughout. Sage and rosemary also become increasingly noticeable. Undergrowth, cigar box, and light tobacco leaves leave their mark.

Palate

From the first sip, it immediately appears dense and dark. It builds powerfully on the palate. After the first few moments, the dark side clears and it opens up. Tart aromas, fine-grained tannins, and noticeable acidity are its recipe for success. It’s still young at the moment, but with plenty of air or maturity, I expect great moments. Aromas of roasted nuts and black and green olives unfold. Its ethereal spiciness comes through very brightly. It remains juicy throughout, with the fruit still active in the background. It clears up and presents itself increasingly brighter and clearer as it flows across the palate. The smoky and cool accents are noticeable again in the finish.
