Description
The story begins in 2018 in the former historic Wilhelm Meuschel winery, which is now run by Markus Heid, himself a VDP organic winemaker from Württemberg, and Lukas Herrmann due to a lack of heirs. The name is derived from the Kitzingen monopole plot “Wilhemsberg”. Markus Heid is officially the managing director and Lukas Herrmann is the property manager and the driving force on site. The young career changer from Heidelberg worked for several years in New Zealand, South Africa, and Portugal but then felt homesick. Right from the start, the two of them focused on organic cultivation in the vineyard, and they have dispensed with everything unnecessary, both there and in the cellar. In the huge, two-storey underground cellars, the wines are fermented spontaneously and aged with great sensitivity in mostly used wood. Here, unadorned, honest wines are produced, above all Sylvaner, without artificial fruit, but with depth and a juicy drinkability.
Free yourself from the convenient tyranny of other people’s tasting notes! We encourage you to find out about the wines from the producers themselves by visiting their website.
