Description

The Vino Lauria winery is located in Alcamo, in the free communal consortium of Trapani, Sicily. The winery was founded in 1958 by Vito Lauria, but had to be abandoned in 1993 due to economic difficulties. Vito’s grandson of the same name wanted to revive the winery. In order to carry his grandfather’s vinous legacy into the future, he enrolled at the University of Udine and studied viticulture and oenology. After completing his studies, and years of travelling in Northern Italy, he returned to Sicily in 2005, and he finally opened the Vino Lauria winery in 2010. The preservation of the soils, the basis of his vines is the guarantee of terroir-based wines. They are the capital of the farm, for which Vito transferred the traditional know-how and instinctive knowledge of his grandfather into a contemporary and ecologically conscious cultivation by means of modern enology.
