This wine has made the Velich winery internationally known; the single vineyard was planted as early as 1959. “Tiglat” is an old dialect term for a small part of the vineyard.

Colour

Brilliant golden yellow.

Nose

The 2021 Tiglat exudes distinct Burgundian notes; alongside citrus and delicate hints of peach, we experience distinct minerality, aromas of sea breeze, matchsticks, and hints of white bread crust. Due to its youth, the yeasty notes are still clearly present, and there are also wonderful hints of sage and mint, which emphasize its lively and refreshing character.

Palate

On the palate, it is very playful, yet juicy and powerful. Its precision, pronounced saltiness, and fine tannins are extremely impressive. A wine that can compete with the world’s great Chardonnays, it already drinks beautifully in its youthful stage, but will continue to develop magnificently over the coming years. It pairs perfectly with intense and aromatic dishes with a spicy twist.
