On the nose, the 2020 Sancerre rouge “Belle Dame” exudes pure finesse. Fine small berries such as wild raspberries, mulberries, blackcurrants, elderberries, and a hint of sloe combine with notes of elderwood and a touch of sage. Delicate hints of wood smoke, cinnamon, and fine dark chocolate perfectly complement its juicy and elegant aroma.

Palate

Upon reaching the tongue, it practically explodes with juicy freshness. Plenty of red and dark fruit combines with Burgundian acidity. All of this is complemented by herbs and an earthy, mineral note that determines the overall impression. A wine of one piece, still youthful and somewhat boisterous, but the perfect alternative to the more expensive Pinots from Burgundy. La Belle Dame, a true beauty.
