The 2022 Blaufränkisch is from the twin origins of Leithagebirge and Lutzmannsburg, fermented spontaneously in various oak sizes ranging from 500-liter to 2,000-liter barrels. Its dark blue, peppery, inky varietal note here is pure and open. The palate swishes in with uncommon juiciness, absolute precision and brightness. Fine, smooth tannins have the gentle, warm rub of a cat’s paw, lending gentle structure to this dense yet unfettered wine that is dynamic, articulate and mobile with much élan.
