Steffen Mugler is a Palatine by the book. Talkative and affable, uncomplicated, fun-loving, and always in a good mood. At the same time, he has strong ties to his homeland and the Palatinate landscape. He comes from a renowned vineyard in the Mittelhaardt, but has found his vinous home with his wife Daniela in Maikammer. Since 2002, the two have been running the “Manfred Schädler” winery in Maikammer and cultivating its vineyards. They have carefully modernised the winery and converted the viticulture to organic-dynamic cultivation. This is noticeable. The wines are becoming more expressive, more complex, and more lively from year to year. His credo: “The guiding principle in all our actions in vineyard and cellar is to live in harmony with nature and to promote it to the best of our knowledge.”
