Nose
The nose of the 2020 Terre de Pierre appears stony and floral. It has abundant notes of wet stones and a touch of flint. White blossoms add binding, delicate elements: acacia, apple, and almond blossom. Chopped almonds and a hint of almond braid immediately spring to mind. Peach, lychee, pineapple, and mirabelle plum are subtly present, but the delicate fruit goes wonderfully with this restrained wine. Meadow flowers and a touch of hay and shortcrust pastry round it out.
Palate
On the first sip, it appears, as expected, cool and clear. Like a mountain stream, it flows pure and purposefully. Stony, mineral, and precise. It exhibits salty flavours and thrives on a fine acidity structure. The 2020 Terre de Pierre follows a consistent theme. The fruit is only very subtly expressed. It benefits from its tactile texture, mouthfeel, and crystal-clear expression. A wine with plenty of scope for its food pairings.

Score: 91
The 2020 Terre de Pierre was crafted from vines planted in magmatic clay soils. Revealing aromas of acacia, honey, smoke, pear and white fruits, it’s moderately weighted with a tense and fleshy texture and a saline, mineral finish despite chalky grip and an austere palate. Give it a little time to digest its élevage, and it will offer excellent drinking.

Score: 92
The 2020 Terre de Pierre is initially seductive and savory with youthful, apple sauce flavors and a delicate, leesy character. There’s plentiful concentration here, but it has a delightful sense of lightness on its feet and purity of fruit. It has a finesse of texture on the finish and a precise, tense conclusion.
