Description
Domaine Luneau-Papin is one of the great innovators in the Nantais, where the Muscadet vineyards are found. With their domaine, which was founded in the 1990s but had roots going back to the early 18th century, Pierre Luneau and Monique Papin were then part of that small movement that recognised the potential of the Melon de Bourgogne grape variety as a terroir translator and promoted it with organic and later biodynamic cultivation. The wines, which are now vinified by their son Pierre-Marie and his wife Marie, exemplify how texturally and structurally strong Melon de Bourgogne can be, how well the grape variety matures and what a wealth of expressive possibilities it possesses. Luneau-Papin has an excellent portfolio of sites with a mixture of different soil structures and old vines, some of which were planted in the 1940s.
