Description
Guillaume Sorbe named his vineyard Les Poëte after his grandmother Esther Poëte. He received the first rows of vines from his grandfather and gradually planted the remaining 6.5 hectares in Reuilly, Quincy, Pouilly-Fumé and Touraine from 1998 onwards. His main focus is on Sauvignon Blanc. There is also some Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Two wines are released a little over a year after the harvest, most only after three years. The Revue du Vin de France writes that “no other wine in the area reaches this level of precision and substance.” His wines are top class and are “among the most demanding white wines of the Loire Valley today.” Guillaume achieves this with his considered manner and holistic approach, according to which his vineyards are located in the middle of fields and forests, are worked organically and biodynamically, after which the wines are aged very gently with plenty of time.
