Description
At the Domaine, founded in 1919, Thomas Bouley has ensured an unstoppable rise to the top of the Volnay appellation since 2010. Meticulous vineyard work and his impressive feel for wood and tannin make for wines with power and substance, finesse, a pure-toned fruit and roundness. Bouley’s vineyards are mostly around Volnay, but also in Pommard, Beaune and Meursault. The main focus, however, is definitely in Volnay, where he creates an impressive range from the declassified Bourgogne Côte d’Or to the local wines to the 1er Cru, which depicts the terroir very precisely and shows how classy and balanced wines can be in this corner of Burgundy.
