Bright golden yellow with delicate green reflections

Nose

The 2021 Mercurey Les Montelons appears wild, oriental, and generous. Its spice based on turmeric, curry, white pepper, and saffron is very characteristic. Almonds, hazelnuts, and pine nuts join in. It exhibits an earthy, profound, and at times chalky character. Dried grass, savory, marjoram, and oregano offer a very exciting, varied herbal spice. With a little patience, the nutty aroma develops into nougat – wonderful. Its fruit is primarily characterized by dried fruit. Apricot, date, and fig stand out here.

Palate

Its fine, pronounced spice combines on the palate with drinkability, elegance, and minerality. It flows silky and smoothly across the palate. The acidity is both crisp and essential. Nutty nuances build around it, while the ethereal aromas seem to stretch it further. With zero grams of bacon, it appears lean and taut. In the aftertaste, all its spicy aromas come to the fore.
