Description
The Forgeurac winery is run by Uwe Lange and Marco Pfliehinger. Marco originally comes from Bühlertal, where the winery also has part of its vineyards. Uwe’s cellar is in St. Leon-Rot under the old village forge. In French, the forge is called “la Forge”. Hence the name “Forgeurac”! The other vineyards are near St. Leon-Rot in Rauenberg (Kraichgau) and in Weinsberg (Württemberg!). In addition, there is a small vineyard in the Markgräfler Land. In the cellar as well as in the vineyards, everything is done by hand. They do not own any machines! Neither tractor, nor sprayer, nor pump or filter! The grapes are pressed on an old basket press. They are drawn off with a hose and fall pressure. The wines are matured exclusively in used wooden barrels. No added yeasts, no enzymes, no fining, no filtration, minimal sulphur additions and only when necessary. Wine can be so simple and yet so brilliant.
